Sean Young
Sean Young, born Mary Sean Young on November 20, 1959, in Louisville, Kentucky, is an American actress recognized for her roles in 1980s sci-fi and thrillers. A former model and dancer trained at the School of American Ballet, she debuted in Jane Austen in Manhattan (1980) and broke through with Stripes (1981), followed by her iconic portrayal of replicant Rachael in Blade Runner (1982) opposite Harrison Ford.
She continued with high-profile films like Dune (1984) as Chani, No Way Out (1987) with Kevin Costner, and Wall Street (1987). Despite career setbacks, including losing the Batman (1989) role to Kim Basinger after an injury, Young showcased comedic flair in Fatal Instinct (1993) and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994) as the villain.
Later, she appeared in independent films such as Poor White Trash (2000), Sugar & Spice (2001), and TV projects including Jesse Stone: Sea Change (2007) and Lifetime movies, maintaining a steady output into the 2010s and 2020s with roles in Axcellerator (2019).
