Jayiram Samal, widely known by his affectionate nickname Jayee, is a celebrated Indian actor born in 1948. He is most recognized for his iconic comedic performances in the Odia film industry, commonly referred to as Ollywood. With a highly prolific career spanning several decades, he has been credited in over 300 works, encompassing feature films, television serials, and theatrical plays.
Samal began his illustrious acting journey in the 1970s, quickly establishing himself as a beloved comedic talent. His early appearances in films like Jajabara in 1975 and Naga Phasa in 1977 set the stage for a long and successful career in regional cinema. He became widely famous among audiences for his unique and trademark laugh, which became a staple of his on-screen persona.
