Dmitry Zavilgelsky
Dmitry Gennadievich Zavilgelsky (Russian: Дми́трий Генна́диевич Завильге́льский; born 11 May 1973; Moscow) is a Russian documentary filmmaker.
In 1995, he graduated from the Faculty of Soil Science of Moscow State University, then from the Higher Courses of Screenwriters and Directors (1998, Leonid Gurevich's workshop). As a screenwriter and director, he has shot more than 40 documentaries for state TV channels, the Ministry of Culture, private and federal film studios and as an independent producer. In 2007, he opened the Internet portal "Virtual Cinema of Documentary Cinema" in order to promote Russian documentary filmmakers and their works. In 2011 he founded the documentary film club "FILMDOCRU in the cafe "MARCH"". In 2019, ARHE Publishing house published his book "How to make a documentary film". Since 2020, together with Svetlana Bychenko, she has been leading the Documentary Film Workshop at the Higher Courses of Screenwriters and Directors named after G. N. Danelia.
