Nicole Pott

Nicole Pott is a neurodivergent film and television director drawn to bold, distinct storytelling. Her work has been recognised internationally, with her short film WanderLand longlisted for the 2023 BAFTA Film Awards in the Short Film category. She is currently developing the film into her debut feature, Like Mother, with Mordecai Films, led by BIFA Springboard producer Margot Douglas.

Her short film Between Breath & Silence has been nominated for both the Iris Prize and Iris Prize Best of British, and will screen on Film4 for one year from November 2026.

Nicole studied BA (Hons) Digital Film Production and Screenwriting at The University of Worcester, followed by an MA in Screen Production at MetFilm School. Her subsequent experience in production management across broadcast documentaries, including Janet Jackson (A&E/Lifetime) and Uncharted Adventure (The Weather Channel), has given her a strong understanding of how to deliver ambitious creative content within demanding budgets and schedules.

She is now focused on moving into directing HETV drama series. Her work occupies bold, character-led spaces, with a sensibility that can speak to both adult and younger audiences without being defined by either.

Through the Directors UK Inspire Scheme (2024–2025), Nicole was mentored by director Jim Loach and shadowed him on Sky Drama’s Lockerbie: A Search for Truth. She is currently being mentored by BAFTA-winning HETV and film producer Annie Harrison Baxter, alongside HETV director Paul Norton Walker (Riviera, The Ex-Wife), with a specific focus on TV drama series and episodic directing.

Nicole directed her first commercial for Prostate Cancer UK, which aired in 2024, and is also keen to continue developing her work in the commercial space.
